Walking into the hot yoga classroom, I was greeted with waves of heat. Although the spacious and bright practice room was full of people who came to practice, it was very quiet. The trainer said, “Because the room temperature is hot, the towel is used to wipe sweat, and the water is used to replenish moisture in the middle of training.”
Be on time for class. After the trainer introduced the arrangement of the course and the requirements for drinking water, he began to practice the posture. Just started to do one or two movements, the reporter began to sweat. In the training, each posture trainer asks to do one repetition. Although the trainer gave the students a reasonable amount of relaxation after each pose, the reporter still felt that soybean-sized beads of sweat were running down his cheeks.
Under this kind of warmth, it seems that everyone’s flexibility has reached the best state, stretching and squeezing to the maximum extent, and letting the sweat “gushing out” recklessly, and after a while, the clothes are soaked. At this time, it seems that you can feel the pressure in the body and the toxins are excreted from the body.
Since it was the first time participating in hot yoga training, the trainer said, “Beginners will find it difficult to adapt to the pressure on the heart and respiratory system caused by yoga practice at this temperature, and will experience dizziness. This phenomenon is very It’s normal. At this point you can lie down and rest for a while.”
Hot Yoga for Weight Loss
First, some postures stimulate the loosened glands to increase the release of hormones. Because the thyroid gland is directly related to the body’s metabolism, it can affect body weight. The hot yoga includes several positions including shoulder stand and fish leaping over the dragon gate, which are especially suitable for adjusting the thyroid gland. Fat metabolism is also increased by yoga, so fat is converted into muscle and energy. This means that while losing fat, you also get better muscle texture and higher energy levels.
Second, the deep breathing exercise of yoga can increase the oxygen absorption of the cells in the body, including the fat cells, which increases the oxidation and burns more fat cells.
If you are not overweight, your weight will remain the same. If you are underweight, you will gain weight. What you gain is a healthy and solid body tissue, not fat. In other words, yoga can create an ideal body weight. That’s because yoga has the ability to normalize glandular activity.
Why Yoga should be “Heated”
Hot Yoga was founded by Indian Bikram on the basis of Hatha Yoga, a branch of yoga.
In the hot yoga series, Bikram kept the 26 poses of the original hatha yoga and arranged them scientifically. These 26 movements are scientifically arranged in the order of stretching and heating according to the characteristics of human muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Bikram believes that if the practitioner jumps to the 15th movement without properly preparing the relevant muscles, the result will be as unpleasant as doing a hasty backflip. Therefore, when practicing, you should do it in the order of the trainer –‘s guidance, otherwise you will make mistakes.
Hot yoga requires practitioners to be at room temperature of 38 to 40 degrees Celsius because Bikram believes that practicing yoga without the body is prone to injury, which is like heating a piece of steel, you can easily break it with a hammer Change into the shape you imagine, and there is no way to make it change shape with a hammer without heating it.
Advocates of hot yoga believe that this set of movements can coordinately restore the body to a state of balance within 90 minutes, so that the whole body can be exercised. In addition to the effect of weight loss, hot yoga has therapeutic effects on insomnia, migraine, low back pain, cervical spondylosis, and gastrointestinal diseases. At the same time, practicing yoga can reduce facial wrinkles, make people feel younger and live longer, and can increase disease resistance, improve vision and hearing, weight loss, mental and emotional health, and a sharper intuition.
People with Heart Disease should be Cautious when Practicing Hot Yoga
The main principle of yogic nutrition is to eat small portions and eat high-quality food. Yogis recommend eating lots of fruits, vegetables, whole shells, and raw nuts, because they are rich in life force, and meat must be eaten sparingly or at all; something too cold. Alcohol is considered unhealthy and hinders yoga progress.
1. During training, breathe through the nose throughout the whole process: the nose hair can filter dirty air and harmful bacteria, and can also stabilize the nerves and make the body healthier.
2. Do not eat for an hour before and after practicing yoga: keep an empty stomach.
3. Grasp the slow process of asana and the feeling of moving the whole body is more important than completing the posture.
4. Keep the number of breaths when you complete the pose, limited to your own physical fitness. Beginners can maintain the number of breaths for 3-5 times, and then slowly increase the number of times.
5. As long as you practice yoga with perseverance and exert yourself to the best of your ability, you can achieve the effect. At the same time, heart patients should be reminded that high temperature may bring discomfort.

I’ve come from the UK for a few weeks, and I work in the IT field. I dabble in yoga back home, but I must admit I have rounded shoulders and limited flexibility. The overall experience of the hot yoga class is amazing. The combination of challenging poses in a heated environment created a unique and energizing atmosphere.
